Letter From the Editors, February 2016

Dear Readers,

February has been such a strong month for Ignited. As we reviewed some of the submissions, we were taken aback by their wonderful vulnerability and depth. One goal we had in mind when we imagined starting this magazine was to open up a forum for people to unpack and share their struggles together. This is also the reason we chose a prompt about faith, doubt, and struggle for this month. And we were so happy to read and enjoy the wonderful submissions we received.

As followers of Christ, we are called to serve god by living radically, which is often times accompanied with doubt and confusion. Our favorite aspect of this month’s submissions was the overwhelming dialogue about importance of struggle in our walk with Christ. It isn’t something that we grow out of. It is a part of our nature to doubt what we are told and form our own thoughts. It is such a blessing for us to be able to do that together and hear your experiences with struggle and healing.

During the season of lent we are led to reflect and remind ourselves of the reasons we follow god. Realizing and cherishing our struggles is a good way to celebrate our relationship with god. Also, we have found that sharing about spiritual turmoil helps other people understand some of the universal and individual trials that many of us face in our walk with Christ.

We are constantly working to develop Ignited, so if you have any ideas or critiques, please let us know. We are here to make this magazine a community and would love to know how you think that could happen.

Thank you all for being a part of this community and taking time out of your busy schedules to reflect, read, and write for the magazine. Your words and art have a farther stretch than you will ever be able to imagine.

Peace of Christ be with you,

Hailey and Brent
