Yes, we know, it’s not actually March anymore, but March proved to be such a busy month for both Ignited’s editors and contributors alike, that we’re publishing our March issue a few days late.
Our theme for the month was sustainability. We believe that as Christians we are called to care for the Earth, each other, and ourselves with the grace, love, and compassion modeled for us by Jesus. This belief leads us to some difficult questions: What are the implications of caring for the Earth and one another when our systems and culture aren’t built to treat people or the environment in sustainable ways? How can our personal lifestyles impact the world as a whole? How do we find balance between cultivating personal and global sustainability?
Although only a couple people were able to contribute this month, we hope that many of you took some time to think about and wrestle with these important questions. The submissions we received provide thoughtful and nuanced reflections in response to these questions and we hope that they encourage our readers to reflect on their relationships with sustainability from a new perspective.
Fortunately, if you were too busy to write for us in March, in April we will continue to wrestle with similar questions as we discuss social justice and its relevance to our faith. We hope you’ll join us in reflecting on that topic and look forward to reading your submissions!
Thanks to our March contributors for sharing, and to you, our readers, for your support!
Peace of Christ be with you,
Hailey and Brent
